Level 3: Long-Form Intensive

Service Description

In long-form improv, the “rules” of short-form improv games are thrown away, and performers are left to find the “game of the scene” themselves, all while advancing convincing, comedic stories. In this class you’ll learn how to use Openings for idea generation, Miles Stroth's Position Play to quickly identify what kind of scene you're in, and how to weave themes and patterns through different scenes. Together, we’ll create a conscious and supportive space where we’ll focus on the “montage” format of long-form improv. Over 8 classes, we’ll combine everything you’ve learned in previous classes exclusively through long scene work. In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends. The class show will be the afternoon of Sunday December 11. This course is a prerequisite to audition for a House Performance Team. We can't wait to laugh and learn with you!
